Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). She moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five which is where she went to at the Dragon School. Emma decided to become an actor at age six. Through the years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing along with dancing, as well as acting. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach as well as school plays by the time she reached the age of ten. Casting began in 1999 to cast Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents found Emma via her Oxford Theatre teacher. After eight continuous auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected as the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. It broke all records in opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. Many critics have praised the film and performances of its three major young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a frequently read British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the Most Outstanding Young Actress in the Feature Film. Later, she was nominated five times for her work in the film.
